There’s no such thing as an easy win.
Yes, there’s the obvious. Playing a team way below your skill level would be considered “easy” by most people. But think about why that win was easy.
Don’t forget about all the work you put in. All the time in front of a net working on your serve, the hours at pickup, the late nights watching YouTube videos and then trying what you learned (usually to no success) in the garage at 1am. Maybe that last one is just me.
How many serves do you think you did in 2021? How many do you plan to do in 2022? How many rallies? How long has it taken you to get to where you are today?
This is why that game felt easy. It’s because all the work you’ve put in.
Remember, that other team could be you - just a little bit from the past. Build them up. Don’t just crush them and walk away. What makes our sport great is the community. We all just want to play, and play against good people.
Pay it forward and share a tip or trick that helped you. That’s how we move this sport forward.
Sharing your success, that’s the only easy win.
