Rob here from Norfolk Roundnet! I started playing roundnet like most other adults, on the beach with friends. I never would have guessed I would be starting my own club that would grow into the most premier Spikeball organization in all Hampton Roads. I grew up in New Jersey playing lacrosse and also wrestled in the off season. After high school, I joined the Navy where I was given the opportunity to travel all over the world and see cultures and people of all types. After 8 years of service I was honorably discharged and started my higher education journey at Old Dominion University pursuing a degree in health and physical education. It's in Virginia Beach where I met my wife and we welcomed our son into the world in April of 2021. We love to be active and I feel like as a family, working out together is one of our favorite things to do. Fitness has always been a passion of mine since I can remember. I coach CrossFit part-time at a gym in Virginia Beach and get to train people on how to move better and live healthier lives. It's my goal to bring my knowledge and motivation for healthy living into the school system as a teacher where I can educate kids in physical literacy and why it's important to value their health. When I linked up with Spikeball, I had every intention of teaching roundnet in schools. Now that I am a recognized Spikeball Education Specialist, I get to travel all over Hampton Roads to introduce one of the fastest growing sports in the world to students of all ages and abilities with the support of Spikeball and their partners. I am amazed at where this journey has taken me so far and cannot wait to see where it goes. More to follow. Spike on!
